Ayurvedic Remedies for Menstrual Problems
Are you one among those million women who feel womanhood is not as exciting as you thought it would be, with those menstrual cycles by your side? It is the ‘ah, the time of the month again’ kind of feeling which brings in inconveniences, pain, abdomen bloating issues, backache, leg ache, head ache, zits, mood swings, over bleeding, not bleeding as expected etc. You feel too tired to even breathe!.
All these being on one side, you must understand that menstruation is an internal process of shedding the old uterine lining to make way for the new one to form. The wearing and tearing of the old layer gives you THE PAIN. It is just to welcome another new egg a new cycle, which will open doors to the natural baby-making process. The simple fact is that, who doesn’t experience menstrual problems? Every woman who menstruates has at least a minor fact that affects her-it could be the most minimal complaint-inconvenience. These problems vary in intensity to each woman depending on the family history, overweight/underweight problems, and addiction to certain drugs or exposure to certain radiations.
All that said and done, you can provide yourself some relief too with the help of Ayurvedic remedies for menstrual problems. Though these remedies will not give you a complete relief, it can ensure to keep you away from those regular problems you face and will provide you some relief, which will act like a pot of water in an empty house. - Citrus for pain relief: Consuming citrus fruits during your periods will help you with relief from pain. Ensure you have a lot of citrus juices during these times. The vitamin C in these fruits will help absorb all the iron from the rest of your food. While you bleed, you lose out on iron content from the body and absorption of iron at this time is truly the hour of need.
- Fenugreek therapy: Recommended by most of the grandmothers and great grandmothers, fenugreek has always topped the relief. It is one of the effective Ayurvedic remedies for menstrual problems. Soaking fenugreek in curd for a couple of hours and then gulping this whole mixture down to your throat, right as the first thing in the morning will provide you relief from menstrual cramps. It will provide internal coolness to your body, which is currently giving away a lot of heat during periods.
- Ginger, the gateway: Ginger is a cramp reliever. It can even regulate irregular periods. Take it in form cookies, cakes, or candies or as a spice in vegetables and stir-fries. Tea may be the most effective form. Drink it down at least 3 times a day during your periods and you will find great relief.
- Mint tea, the reliever: Steep in a few leaves of fresh mint or wintergreen into a cup of boiling hot water and brew it into medical tea. Mint has the wonderful capacity of relieving oneself from pain.
- Good food and slight exercises: Though both of these are what you hate to do during those strenuous times, it is essential to feed your body with some good and healthy food. Slight exercises, at least from the comfort of your chair can bring very good relief in the terms of unblocked bleeding; and thereby no cramps.
